The Story Behind This Rug
The cream ground stays close to the purest shade of raw wool; the palmettes in cinnamon, madder red, and faded navy are a quiet echo of a classic Safavid garden. This gentle balance is easy on the eyes and makes the rug timeless in any living room.
Why Choose a One-of-a-Kind Handwoven Afghan Rug
- Unique: There is only one of this rug; its exact knotting rhythm and dye batch can never be replicated.
- Durability of botanical dyes: Unlike synthetic aniline dyes, root dyes do not fade – they simply soften over time.
- Ghazni wool: Long-fiber, lanolin-rich wool from high-altitude sheep provides natural stain resistance and a silky sheen.
- Asymmetrical Persian knot: Finer detail resolution and sharper motif edges than the Turkish (Gördes) knot.
- Investment value: Genuine handwoven rugs dyed with botanical dyes gain value over generations of use.
Color and Pattern
Madder-red and cinnamon palmettes on a cream ground create a rhythm with faded navy rosettes; a chain of miniature flowers from the same family runs around the border. It pairs beautifully with wood, linen, and natural stone textures.

Protect Its Elegance
To preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven creations made with natural fibers—which add value to your living space—for generations, a careful care routine is essential.
Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid spills, timing is critical. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, blot the liquid gently from the surface without rubbing. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the shape of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use a vacuum cleaner with low suction. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance how natural yarns react to light and prevent uneven changes in color (fading), we recommend rotating your rug every 2 to 6 months.
Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Fine textures such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For a thorough clean, seek help only from professional rug care centers specializing in natural fibers.
Washing Instructions
Due to their construction, the exceptional pieces in Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing. (Only our specific models explicitly marked “Washable” in their names can be washed in household machines on a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
