Puralana Series 80% Wool 20% Viscose Handwoven Scandinavian Living Room Rug – Ivory

The Puralana Series Handwoven Rug brings the natural simplicity and warm texture of Scandinavian style into your living spaces with its blend of 80% wool and 20% viscose. While natural wool fibers provide warmth and comfort, the silky sheen of viscose adds an elegant look to your décor. Its 12 mm pile height offers a soft and plush feel underfoot, while its weight of 2800 g/m² creates a sturdy and durable construction. Each rug produced using the handwoven technique has its own unique character. This variant is a soft, plush-pile rug in a gentle and bright ivory tone that reflects Scandinavian simplicity.

What Are Wool and Viscose?

The Puralana Series is made from a balanced blend of wool and viscose fibers. Wool is a natural fiber obtained from sheep; it provides warmth, balances moisture, and offers a durable, flexible structure. Viscose is a naturally sourced (regenerated) fiber made from tree cellulose; its silk-like softness and natural sheen add an elegant glow to the surface. In the Puralana Series, 80% wool and 20% viscose come together to offer both the warmth and plushness of wool and the silky sheen of viscose. Combined with its 12 mm pile height and weight of 2800 g/m², this blend creates a soft, plush, and long-lasting Scandinavian rug.

How Should Wool and Viscose Rugs Be Cleaned?

Wool and viscose blend rugs contain fibers that are sensitive to water and moisture, so they should only be cleaned by professional rug-cleaning companies; washing at home, machine washing, or wet cleaning is not recommended. For daily care, use a low-suction vacuum cleaner and gently dab any potential stains with a slightly damp cloth to help preserve the rug’s softness, sheen, and colors for a long time.

Add understated elegance, natural comfort, and a silky touch to your home with the Puralana Series ivory 80% wool 20% viscose handwoven Scandinavian rug. Unconditional returns are available within 14 days of delivery. For more options, explore our wool rugs and Scandinavian rugs collections.

Protect Your Rug’s Elegance
A careful care routine should be adopted to preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven, natural-fiber creations—pieces that add value to your living space—for generations to come.

Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When a liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, remove the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only—never rub. Always work in the direction of the rug’s pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the structure of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.

Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the natural fibers’ reaction to light and prevent uneven color changes (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.

Expert Care (Professional Cleaning)
Delicate materials such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug-care centers specializing in natural fibers.

Washing Instructions
The delicate pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing due to their construction. (Only specific models clearly marked “Washable” in their names may be washed in household machines using a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
